Credit unions throughout the island of Ireland run credit unions in primary and second level schools. 

They have proved to be an extremely good initiative to get young people involved in the credit union be it from learning how to save on a regular basis, and in some cases volunteering to assist with the running of the school credit union thus developing business skills for later life.

What is the key to success?

A 3 way partnership is essential for the successful setting up and running of a school credit union i.e. at the very least you need a key teacher, a key credit union person and key students working together with dedicated responsibilities.
